Swapan Basu and his wife, Roma, and Anuschka continues to be the only family
owned, designed, manufactured and distributed one-of-a-kind hand painted leather

Bhaskar, their son joined the family

to the family tradition.
Despite significant global expansion,
Anuschka Leather and their handbags have remained true to their roots and core
values of quality, craftsmanship and artistic creation and are dedicated to
employing craftsmen and artisans who would otherwise be struggling with
unemployment and economic hardships.
The Anuschka line is designed in the
USA and made in family owned and run leather goods workshops in India in the
Indian leathermaking tradition. Each purse, wallet or handbag is hand cut and
stitched from high grade leather and then sketched and individually hand
painted with original and beautiful Anuschka designs, many suggested by their
loyal customers ( see the Mustang series for instance). Every handbag goes
through multiple f checks by the quality team to ensure that the art and
leatherwork is perfect. And a family member does a final review. [ Having been
in the womens accessories business for many years we can attest that it is
extremely rare to find a manufacturer who NEVER ships an item that must be
returned - we have never had to return an Anuschka bag ]
Paints like Canvas - Wears Like Iron.
The Anuschka handbags are painted on soft nappa cowhide via a special process.
The bags remain soft and pliable and the decorative paint DOES NOT WEAR OFF OR
FADE. We have customers who bought their first Anuschka 5 or 6 years ago and
they still look like new - bright and colorful. Anuschka also sells a special
Anuschka Leather Care Kit which we offer to keep your bag in tip-top shape.
And Anuschka warranties their
handbags for 1 year (no mileage restrictions) - one of the few Handbag
Warranties we've ever seen.
